Cisco Engineer – Jacksonville

Dimension & Scope:

Responsible for the design, project management, feasibility studies, time and cost estimation for the Convergys Corporate Data Network. This person serves as the primary resource for the business requirements and networking standards and ensures that the business requirements satisfy both client and company needs.

Education & Professional Certifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in related technical discipline And Four years relevant experience
Or Master’s Degree in related technical discipline And Minimum two years relevant experience
Or Minimum eight years relevant experience without college degree.
NOTE: Cisco certification required at this level

Candidate Profile:

-Five years hands-on experience supporting a complex data network environment supporting 24x7 mission critical applications and services
-Expert knowledge of Cisco and/or Nortel network product (6500, 7200, 3550, PIX/ASA, Content Switches, Nortel 8600)
-Experience configuring and troubleshooting internal and external routing protocols – OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP
-Experience with deploying MPLS based WANs
-Experience configuring high-availability networks
-Experience using network monitoring and management tools for troubleshooting and capacity management
-Cisco and/or Nortel certifications preferred
-Experience with other technology areas such as server architecture, network security or PBXs
-High level of technical aptitude
-Possess solid decision making skills in problem identification, solution recommendation and implementation
-Ability to organize and prioritize in a fast paced, deadline oriented, rapidly changing environment
-Strong verbal and written communication skills
-Detail and customer service oriented
-Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills
